Kites fill the horizon between Paje and Jambiani.
The reef helps create a lagoon that has made this part of Zanzibar a major place to learn, practise and ride.
Whether you want to try it for two hours or spend several days learning properly, we can help connect you to an established school.
Jambiani or Paje?
They are neighbours, but the experience is not identical.
Paje has the biggest concentration of schools and a busier kite scene.
Jambiani can feel quieter, particularly for riders who already know what they are doing.
Beginners should choose based on instruction quality, conditions and safe teaching area, not simply whichever school is closest.
When is kite season?
Zanzibar generally has two main trade-wind periods on the southeast coast.
The stronger Kusi season typically runs through the middle of the year.
The Kaskazi brings another wind period around the northern-hemisphere winter.
Weather is weather.
Use the partner school's current forecast and advice.
Choose instruction, not just price
Before booking, understand:
- private vs shared lesson
- number of students per instructor
- equipment included
- lesson duration
- school certification
- what happens if wind conditions are unsuitable
This is a high-consideration purchase.
The page should make the visitor feel better informed, not simply push a button.
Arranged locally from Jambiani
There are hundreds of tours for sale in Zanzibar, and we don’t pretend to run them all.
